December 2010 – Sami Zaptia has two articles published in the December edition of the Business Post magazine. One is a report on the September US Trade Mission to Libya. The second is a report on the US ambassador Gene Cretz’s six-city tour of the USA in October promoting Libya to American businesses.

December 2010 – Sami Zaptia visits the Banking & Insurance Fair held in Tripoli between 2-5th.

December 2010 – Sami Zaptia participates in the German Process Technology (VDMA) Trade Mission to Tripoli held between 5-6th

December 2010 – Sami Zaptia attends the business networking meeting held at the British Embassy on the 6th hosted by the deputy head of the UKTI.

December 2010 – Sami Zaptia participates in Tanmia Haditha/CASE’s event at the Rixos hotel on the 7th. Sami Zaptia writes an article on the event for the Tripoli Post.

November 2010 – Know Libya is proud to be associated as a service provider for a third consecutive year with the Libya International Motor Show – 2-6 November.

November 2010 – Sami Zaptia visits the US University Fair held at Al-Fatah University 6-7th.

November 2010 – Sami Zaptia contributes the editorial article for the third edition of the English-Arabic monthly magazine Markets & Fairs (www.libyanfairs.com /www.marketsandfairs.com)

November 2010 – The Oxford Business Group launch ‘The Report Libya 2010’. As with the previous report, Know Libya contributed extensively to this edition by briefing a range of OBG sector analysts. The report quotes Sami Zaptia extensively on page 29.

November 2010 – Know Libya are commissioned by a construction company operating in Libya to compose an Infrastructure and Construction Sector Report giving a complete overview of the vision and policy for the sector. This included the official government (GPC) policy document (Arabic & English), the Industrial Zones Authority plans (English), the 5-year Industrialization Plan (Arabic & English), a list of the Housing & Infrastructure Board’s (HIB) projects and a list of the Organization for Development of Administrative Centres’ (ODAC) projects.

November 2010 – Omani National Day – Sami & Yolanda Zaptia participated in the celebrations of the Omani National Day organized by the Omani Embassy, Tripoli.

November 2010 - Know Libya successfully host, organize and manage a 1-day Libyan cultural event for Spanish oil company Repsol. The event includes cultural awareness training, traditional Libyan music & folk dancing, traditional Libyan tents, traditional Libyan food, traditional Libyan tea with mint and entertainers for children etc.

November 2010 – Know Libya delivers a 1-day training course to a group of final year Al Fatah University students. The courses is designed to help improve their employability by preparing them to work effectively in international companies in Libya.

October 2010 – Sami Zaptia participates in the ‘Roundtable on Malaysian Timber Exports to Libya’ organized by the Malaysian Embassy. Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities of Malaysia and Deputy Director of the Malaysian Timber Industry Board were part of the roundtable.

October 2010 – Sami Zaptia participates in the activities of the Austrian Trade Mission to Libya.

October 2010 – Know Libya launches its training programme for BP Libya.

October 2010 – Sami Zaptia makes a presentation entitled ‘Doing business in the Libyan Oil & Gas sector: A Realistic View’ to the NOF Energy (Oil & Gas) British Trade Mission organized by UKTI/British Embassy at the Mahary Radisson Hotel, Tripoli.

October 2010 – Sami Zaptia attends the one-to-one meetings of the Italian Trade Mission visiting Libya 17-18 October.

October 2010 – Know Libya supplies an international construction company with an Infrastructure & Construction report giving a complete overview of the vision and policy for the sector, highlighting the main players in the sector and listing the major current and future projects.

October 2010 – Know Libya delivers its popular 1-day Libya cultural awareness course for the employees of several international companies operating in Libya.

October 2010 – Sami & Yolanda Zaptia attend the launch of the Libyan Business Women’s Committee - www.womeninbusiness.ly at a top Tripoli hotel on Saturday October 30th.

September 2010 – Know Libya gives a 2-day ‘Working Effectively in International Teams’ training workshop to Statoil.

September 2010 – Know Libya gives the British Council LETUP teachers a Libya Cultural Awareness course for the third consecutive year.

September 2010 Sami Zaptia participates in the Middle East Association Trade Mission to Libya attending meetings at the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce and the Libyan Business Council. The mission included the Invest Northern Ireland representative.

May 2010 – Know Libya designs and delivers its Arabic/Libyan language course for beginners.

May 2010 – Know Libya produces ‘Know Tripoli 2010’ – a resource guide for expatriates living in Tripoli. This is a non-profit item within our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives – with net proceeds used to buy resources for a charity in Tripoli. March 2010 - Know Libya organizes and promotes the OCIPED/Omani Trade Mission of 10 leading Omani companies to Tripoli. Know Libya organises nearly 100 one-to-one private sector meetings in various product sectors. Tripoli, Benghazi and Misrata Chambers of Commerce are invited to the event. March 2010 - Eltex 2010 - Yolanda Zaptia presents a workshop on ‘Teacher Motivation’ as part of Eltex 2010 at the Language Centre of Al Fatah University, in Tripoli, Libya.

March 2010 - Sami Zaptia makes a presentation entitled ‘Doing business in the Libyan Oil & Gas sector: a realistic view’ to the Scottish Trade Mission organized by UKTI/British Embassy at the Al Kabir Hotel, Tripoli.

February 2010 - Know Libya is contracted by the US Embassy, Commercial team to help organise meetings, promote and participate in the first official US Executive Trade Mission to Libya for decades. The Trade Mission consists of 25 leading US companies including Boeing, Harley Davidson, Bechtel, Motorola, Electrolux, Hill International, Pratt & Whitney, Raytheon, Northrop etc. Know Libya organises over 100 one-to-one private sector meetings in various product sectors. February 2010 - Sami Zaptia is invited by the GPC of Higher Education to participate in the workshop on the report prepared by the German company GTZ on the role of education and the Libyan labour market. The workshop included the Minister for Higher Education, Dr Al Fakhery and the head of Libya’s Economic Development Board, Dr Jibril. January 2010 - Know Libya organises the first visit to Libya of Indonesia’s Institute of Technology of Bandung (ITB). This was the first visit to Libya by an Indonesian higher educational institute of this world ranking. Know Libya organised all their meetings and their keynote event which included a presentation seminar held at the Al Kabir hotel in Tripoli, and a live video conference link with Libyan students currently studying at ITB for a question and answer session.

December 2009 - Sami Zaptia secures an exclusive interview with Mr. Al-Bueshi Al-Lafi, Managing Director of the Libyan Tax Authority for the Tripoli Post at Tax Seminar held to discuss a proposal to 'Amend Income Tax Law No. (11) 2004'.

October 2008 - Canadian Oil & Gas Trade Mission to Libya: Know Libya play a key role in managing, promoting and delivering a highly successful commercial event, involving 100 one-one business meetings for the mission delegates, and a very well attended plenary session - which resulted in significant business done. Sami Zaptia joined distinguished panel of speakers and gave a presentation on 'Doing Business in Libya'.

November 2007 - Know Libya assesses impact of the official Road Safety Awareness TV campaign co-sponsored by Shell, broadcast during Ramadan by analysing results of survey of 1,000 people across Libya.
